Eco Christmas Guide

This year we're having a Green Christmas at the zoo. We've decorated the zoo with LED eco-friendly lights and handmade recycled decorations. We want to inspire you to join in with a Green Christmas.

The team here at Noah's Ark have been busy making lots of exciting christmas decorations, including sculptures made from recycled carrier bags. These sculptures highlight the overuse of single use plastics in the UK and across Europe. The team also had great fun in making an igloo surrounded by milk bottles for children to play in to address the ongoing plastic problems

Not all of the decorations were as elaborate as the 'igmoo', some decorations were paperchains made from old leaflets and snowflakes made from toilet rolls. These can be made easily at home by anyone fancying a go at some eco crafts.

We challenged staff and our visitors to think about our environment this christmas. Why not enjoy a Christmas without plastic and give experiences and memories instead? We've got a selection of eco-friendly Christmas gifts with something for the whole family.

The Christmas Bundle for two includes:

• Animal Encounters for two (you choose between Giraffes, Bears (18+), Birds of Prey or Giant Tortoises)
• Two Adult Day Tickets
• Adoption pack for two including a personalised certificate and your names displayed at the animal enclosure
• A fact sheet and a photo of your chosen animal

Animal Encounters

You can give the gift of a hands-on Animal Encounter. Perfect for an animal lover, they can spend 20 minutes behind the scenes with our knowledgeable animal keepers getting to know our Giraffes, Giant Tortoises or Bears. If you don't want to book the date you can purchase a Gift Encounter voucher valid for a whole year.

Keeper Experiences

For an extra special present to make memories that last a lifetime give the gift of a Zoo Keeper Experience. Participants will spend the entire morning with the keepers getting to know a variety of species of animal and finding out what it's really like to be a zoo keeper. From 4 years old to 100 years old we can tailor our experiences to suit you. Whether your little monkeys want to meet our little monkeys in a Primate and Meerkat Experience, or get to know our farm animals in the Mini Famer Experience or maybe an Elephant lover wants to get up close with nature's giants in our Elephant Experience, we can help make some Christmas dreams come true.

Animal Adoptions

If you can't make it to the zoo then bring the zoo home with a symbolic Animal Adoption. Not only will you have a physical gift to give at Christmas time but you can also enjoy the feeling that you've helped to care for our animals. We'll send out a special adoption gift pack in the post including a cuddly toy, a certificate, a free ticket to visit the zoo and we'll even put the adopters name on display at our animal enclosure as a thank you. This Christmas we're offering a special seasonal Reindeer adoption, be quick these are only on offer for a limited time.

Gift Tickets

Treat your family and friends to a day out at the zoo. Gift tickets are vaild for a year from date of purchase and include a day of fun, getting up close with your favourite big zoo animals, as well as access to 15 indoor and outdoor play areas. The vouchers are valid all year round and can be used to attend any of our seasonal events.

Zoo Memberships

Why not give the gift that keeps on giving and purchase a Zoo Membership for your family and friends? These annual memberships are valid for a whole calendar year and so your loved ones can visit the zoo as many times as they like. With the memberships come additional benefits including 10% off animal adoptions, keeper experiences and purchases at our catering outlets.
