Saturday 17th November to Saturday 22nd December
Here at Noah’s Ark we are committed to protecting our local environment and future-proofing the park to reduce our carbon impact as well as teaching the next generation how to care for the natural world and become more sustainable. We are the proud winners of multiple awards for our sustainable efforts.
This Christmas we're going all out with our Green efforts to show that Christmas needn't cost the Earth. The zoo will be decorated with elaborate recycled Christmas decorations. The animals will be joining in too as the keepers will continue to make special recycled animal enrichment. All the while you'll be guided around the zoo by our energy efficient Christmas light trail.
Throughout the event we will be fundraising for our local food bank, giving back to our local community.
History and Mystery of Christmas trail - Come and learn all about the Christmas story. Find out why Robins feature on Christmas cards and why Rudolph the Reindeer is so famous. Grab your map from the ticket office and take a festive walk around the zoo.
LED light trail - Winter is a notoriously cold and dark time of year but don't let this put you off a visit to the zoo. We will be illuminating your way with a magical trail of lights. Don't worry their eco friendly too, these LED bulbs are energy efficient.
Recycled Christmas Decorations - We would like to show you how easy it is to make your home look super festive on a low budget and whilst helping the planet. From wreaths made of plastic bags to Christmas trees made of pallet boxes.
Recycled Animal Sculptures - We have again teamed up with Explorers Escape who are working with local schools and the community to explain why plastic is harmful to our oceans. Local schools have been busy making animal sculptures out of old plastics which will be displayed here over the Christmas holidays.
