Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is an award-winning zoo set in 100-acres of beautiful countryside just six miles out of Bristol. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated individual to join us as Assistant Retail Manager.

You will be passionate about engaging with our customers and ensure the team creates a great customer experience at all times. You will be working closely with the Retail Manager to achieve agreed sales and profit targets within our zoo’s gift shop and Farm Shop.

We are looking for someone that has a friendly, can-do attitude, along with good communication and organisational skills.

This role has physical active elements, therefore a suitable level of fitness is required in order to carry out the job effectively.

Some of your responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

o To supervise and manage performance and develop the Retail team.

o Ensure the visual presentation of both stores are maintained to a very high standard at all times.

o To manage the team’s operation of all tills, including cash and card transactions; monitoring for security, good customer service, systems and records and ensuring end of day procedures are completed accurately.

o Monitor stock levels and plan / place orders to replenish supplies and ensure availability of all goods and supplies.

o Manage deliveries of retail goods, ensuring prompt deliveries can be made each day and efficient offloading and storage of goods are carried out at all times.

o Source new lines that follow the company brand guidelines to replace products that may be out of stock and communicate any potential issues back to the source.

o Animal food production and stock levels are maintained for busy periods.

o Assist the Retail Manager with online sales making sure orders are processed and packed to ensure time scales are met.

o Organise records of deliveries, invoice, and purchase orders. Raise new purchase orders and set up new supplier’s ads as required.

o Assist the Retail Manager to carry out the marketing plan and event co-ordination for the retail outlets.

o Set up and maintain seasonal displays as directed by the Retail Manager.

o Monitor shop emails and reply to customer and supplier enquiries.

 

Skills & Experience:

o Previous retail management experience is essential.

o Experience of stock management is a must, keeping track of stock control, maintain calculations and pre-planning replenishment in time for busy times of the year, to be competent in using the right software to do this effectively.

o Ability to build, retain, motivate, and develop a team is essential.

o Experience working with EPOS till systems, IT systems to include excel and numeracy skills are essential to the role.

o Manual, full Driving Licence is required, as will be driving the buggy around site.

o Customer service experience is a must.

o Visual Merchandising experience.

o E-commerce Platforms.

This is a permanent role, working 4 / 5 days per week, which will include weekends and bank holidays as per the staff rota.

Salary: £12.96 per hour
