Kitchen Assistant

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Kitchen Assistant.

This isn’t your average kitchen job – you’ll be working in a truly unique environment, with the food barn which is situated between the Meerkats and Emus! While you won’t be working with the animals, you’ll be a part of an exciting setting that makes every day different. Come and join our dynamic kitchen team at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, where you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and maintaining the smooth running of the kitchen.

You’ll be a key part of our team, helping keep everything clean, organised, and hygienic all within the exciting atmosphere of a zoo!

Key responsibilities:

 

· Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring that all areas are tidy and well-stocked.

· Assist with maintaining high standards in the kiosks (that are dotted around the site).

· Dishwashing and cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils.

· Waste management, ensuring proper disposal and recycling protocols are followed.

· Delivering supplies to various kitchen sections and kiosks as needed.

· Stock rotation and assisting with inventory management.

· Help with basic kitchen prep tasks (training provided).

· Assist with the setup and closing of kitchen operations.

· Support chefs and front-of-house staff during peak periods.

· Ensure the storage areas (fridges, freezers, etc) remain clear and organised.

 

About you:

· No prior experience required – on the job training will be provided.

· A positive, hardworking attitude and a willingness to learn is essential.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

· A genuine interest in being part of the zoo experience.

 

Work pattern: (usually day hours only), you will be working every – Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (with the chance to flex your days up within our busier periods, i.e., school holidays).

 

Salary: £10.00 - £12.46 per hour (depending on experience).
