Rescue Tiger Appeal

Noah's Ark has set out it's biggest and boldest mission to date, to build a new habitat for a tiger in need of a forever home, Aqua.

Donate Now

Aqua’s journey began in 2019 when he was one of 10 tigers rescued from appalling conditions at the Poland-Belarus border after being trafficked. Sadly, for one of those tigers, it was to much to bear, and they didn't make it.

Rehabilitated in Spain and he is now awaiting his forever home at Noah's Ark.

We are now racing to raise £175,000 to build a special rescue tiger home for Aqua.

With your support, we can build a new enclosure for Aqua, giving him the safe, spacious enriching home he desperately needs.

Aqua's Story

In October 2019, a horse box filled with 10 tigers, was stopped at the border crossing in Koroszczyn, where Belarus border guards found they had insufficient documentation.

The tigers were found in awful conditions, not only physically but mentally. Terrified, cramped, stressed and covered in their own faeces.

For one of the tigers, it was all too much.

The tigers were officially seized and temporarily taken to Poznan zoo. 5 of the tigers (Aqua, Softi, Toph, Merida & Sanson) were then moved to renowned animal charity AAP - where they began their journey of recovery and rehabilitation.

AQUA'S TIMELINE

Forever Home For Aqua

Here at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, Aqua’s new home will provide him with the highest standards of animal care - giving him space, safety and enrichment.

His new habitat has been designed with Aqua’s needs at the centre of the development. Due to Aqua’s love of water, his new home will also feature two pond areas to provide exciting enrichment through physical exercise, enabling him to feel right at home.

FAQ'S - AQUA

Unfortunately we do not know where Aqua had come from or in fact where he was being transported to. However, the team at AAP believe they were most likely destined to become part of the illegal trafficking of animals and their body parts.

10 tigers were found in a horse box when their transport attempted to cross the border at Koroszczyn. Sadly during the time they were being investigated, one of the tigers died. The remaining 9 were temporarily taken to Poznan Zoo where they were then allocated to different rehabilitation centres. 5 of the tigers were then transferred to AAP Primadoumus. (Softi, Toph, Sanson, Merida and Aqua)

The team at AAP carefully match their rescue animals to suitable forever homes, in Aqua's case they have been looking for the right home for him that can suit his needs and character as a big cat. Fortunately, Noah's Ark's 'Project Carnivora' incorporates building a rescue habitat that has been designed with Aqua's needs in mind.
