3 Lions Predict Football win for England in The Euro Semi-Finals

There’s a lot of pre-game excitement in the air as England are set to take on the Netherlands this evening. With football fans donning their teams colours, the anticipation is building to see how far England will go.

Our very own lions, Arusha and her cubs, Kojo and Tau, enjoyed deciding which team will win the game on Wednesday night. The lions thrive on enrichment activities like this to keep them at the top of their game. The lions made quick work of deciding, and luckily for England, it looks like they are set for a win!

African lions are classified as ‘Vulnerable’ by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The lion population in Africa has decreased by 90% in the last century. There are estimated to be only 23,000 left in the wild. Africa Lions are affected by habitat loss and fragmentation, illegal wildlife trade and human wildlife conflict. Lions have no natural predators, but numbers have decreased by over 40% in the last three generations, due to loss of living space and conflict with people.

Our aim is to inspire visitors with their three lions, and encourage visitors on how they can make a positive impact on global conservation efforts to help the species.
