Celebrating Breastfeeding Families at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm!
31st Oct 2024
On 17th September, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm had the pleasure of welcoming over 30 breastfeeding parents and their little ones for a special visit in celebration of North Somerset's Breastfeeding Awareness Week. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and support as the zoo became a space for parents to gather, connect, and celebrate their breastfeeding journey.
This event aimed to encourage new parents to feel comfortable and confident getting out and about in public while breastfeeding. By hosting this gathering, the zoo took another step in its mission to be a welcoming space for Animals, People, and Planet. Noah's Ark Zoo Farm has proudly been a member of the North Somerset Breastfeeding Friendly scheme for several years, reinforcing its commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for families.

Rhian, our Brand and Engagement Manager, shared a few words about the zoo's commitment to supporting new parents:
"We understand how important it is for new parents to feel supported and included in their communities. By hosting events like this, we hope to inspire confidence in parents, providing them with a safe space to enjoy their time with their little ones and create special memories. It's part of our commitment to be a zoo that truly welcomes and inspires everyone who visits."
In addition to hosting special events, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm runs its own parent and toddler group, Safari Tots, twice a week during school term time. This exclusive group is designed for parents and children aged 5 and under, offering a fun and safe environment for young families to connect, learn, and explore together. Safari Tots is held in our under 5’s soft play area and is hosted by the Zoo’s Education Team.
The zoo was filled with the smiles of parents and the curious gazes of their children as they explored the exhibits, enjoyed the fresh air, and took part in this wonderful celebration of parenthood. We are proud to support families in our local community and beyond, providing a unique, family-friendly environment for parents and children to enjoy together.
A huge thank you to all the families and the fantastic breastfeeding support peers who joined us for this heartwarming day! We look forward to welcoming more groups in the future and continuing to be a place where families of all shapes and sizes can feel at home.
