Have you ever dreamt of becoming an elephant keeper? Wondered what it would be like to get up close to these magnificent animals? Or perhaps you’re after a spectacular gift for a loved one that they will remember forever? Look no further than our amazing Elephant Experience!
The experience offers an exclusive, behind the scenes one-to-one with our dedicated elephant keepers. The experience is two hours in total and will see the participant getting up close to our elephants whilst learning about daily husbandry care (carried out by the keepers with protective contact training) - this could include weighing, washing, or skin and foot care.

The Elephant Experience takes place in Elephant Eden, our elephant enclosure here at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. Built in 2013 as a state-of-the-art facility, it remains today the biggest elephant enclosure in the UK and in Northern Europe. Its impressive features include deep sand floors (1.2 metres deep) which act to protect the elephants’ feet, joints, and toenails; in-house sprinklers to keep the elephants cool; and hoists attached to the roofs to put toys in, to name just a few! Additionally, earlier in 2022 we opened a 5,000 square metre willow plantation within Elephant Eden. The first of its kind in the UK, it has been a huge hit with our elephants who love exploring and grazing in it. The Elephant Experience will give you the chance to see this impressive facility and its features up close as well as learn more about the running of it on a daily basis.

Also included in this one-to-one experience is an entry ticket to the zoo for the participant plus a souvenir pack.
Experiences will take place from 8:15 - 10:15 am (before the zoo opens at 10:30am). They are available to book Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Please note: Elephant Eden at Noah’s Ark operates a Protected Contact Management System. Therefore, all activities are carried out from behind a protective barrier. There will be no physical contact and you will not be in the same enclosed area as the elephants at any time during this experience. You will need to have a good level of fitness to participate fully! Participants must also be age 18+
