Festive fun to round off a bumper year at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm

With the arrival of advent, all of us here at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm are officially counting down to Christmas! Two fun-filled festive weekends are coming up at Noah’s Ark in December, rounding off a bumper season here in Wraxhall. We’re decking the barn with boughs of holly as we get ready to welcome talented amateur dramatic groups to the stage in the Ark Arena for our Noah’s Ark nativities featuring, of course, real farm animals and a baby!
Our Christmas shows are always a big success and this year we’ve got a stellar line-up to bring the magic of the birth of Christ to life – included with tickets to the zoo. Visitors are invited to come dressed up as their favourite nativity characters and join in the excitement. The talented children from the 4th Portishead Rainbows and 6th Portishead Brownies start our nativity season on Saturday, December 7 at 2.30pm. Their traditional nativity, God Sent a Baby King, features your favourite carols, live animals and even a real baby! It is sure to be an unforgettable performance.
This will be followed up with The D.I.Y Nativity from Christ Church, Clifton performed on Saturday, December 14 at 1pm and 3pm. This will feature a whole host of popular animals, family carols and a chance for children from the audience to take part during the performance. We’ve got a special offer for visitors coming to see our magical nativities. By downloading and printing off a voucher from our website, you’ll be able to get our Special Admission Offer for zoo entry plus a seat at the nativity – all just for £10 for adults and £5 for children. Without a voucher, normal admission prices will apply. The nativities are included in the daily zoo admission price and they are free for season ticket holders.
Noah’s Ark will be open from 10.30am to 4pm on the two nativity Saturdays, offering a great Christmassy family day out and chance to get some festive photos with our nativity animals. We will also be taking donations for two very worthy charities; Emmanuel Hospice, which is based in Romania, and the Crisis Centre in Bristol. Extended opening hours are also on the horizon at Noah’s Ark to offer even more opportunities for interaction with our animals.
We’ve had a record year at the zoo and we’re expecting 2014 to be every bit as good as 2013 has been. Around 170,000 visitors have stopped by the Ark so far this year and more people have been coming to visit in our low season than ever before. Visitor numbers have been growing in the past five years and Noah’s Ark is now considered to be one of the top days out in the South West. Noah’s Ark will reopen on Saturday, January 11th for Saturdays only during the month (10:30am – 4pm). Normal weekday opening will resume on February 1st like previous years (10:30 – 5pm).
There’s always something going on at the zoo, with a packed daily and annual events schedule filled with fun, interactive activities for all ages making for a great family day out. You can also pick up some last-minute Christmas presents at Noah’s Ark during our December nativity days. A zoo Season Ticket makes a fantastic gift for animal lovers, who can then have unlimited trips to Noah’s Ark during 2014 to see our elephants and other big animals. Whenever we are open, you can be here making the most of our extended opening hours.
To sweeten the deal, if you get a Season Ticket before December 20, you’ll save money by getting the 2014 membership at 2013 prices. With an adult season ticket costing just £58 if you visit just four times you’ve made back the cost. Keeper Experiences and Animal Adoptions also make unique gifts at this time of year.
