Stephen Sutton's Story

23rd May 2024

This year marks the 10 year anniversary of Stephen Sutton's passing. Stephen was diagnosed with incurable cancer at just 15 years old. He made it his mission to spend as much time raising as much money as possible. His fundraising efforts have now surpassed over £6 million.

This year Jane, Stephen's mum, will be completing 16 challenges around the UK to continue Stephen's fundraising legacy with the aim to raise £300k for the teenage cancer trust. We were honoured to welcome Jane here at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm yesterday for the first of her upcoming challenges.

Her challenge at Noah's Ark involved shovelling 28 spadefuls of elephant poo. Not only was this challenge a lot of fun it also meant a lot to Jane. Sutton the African Elephant was named in memory of Stephen 10 years ago when he was born. Stephen had met Sutton (the elephants) mum at West Midlands Safari park as part of his bucket list back in 2014.
