Summer ‘Baby Boom’ at Noah’s Ark
It’s been an exciting few weeks here, with a host of cute, fluffy new arrivals joining the Noah’s Ark family.
We mentioned the three little reindeer – Reggie, Rachel and Rosa – on the blog a couple of weeks back. Since then we’ve had three red deer fawns, an alpaca and a llama born in recent weeks, all of which are doing well under the expert supervision of our keepers.
Newborn baby animals are always a big hit with our visitors, and these ones are no exception. You can see all these baby animals in their enclosures when you visit Noah’s Ark, so don’t miss the opportunity to get up close with these adorable creatures.
Once you’ve arrived to see these newborns, you can go from the smallest members of our zoo to the biggest – and they don’t come much bigger than our elephants and giraffes. At Elephant Eden you can meet our elephants Janu and M’Changa, and you can also hear an Elephant Presentation every day at 1.30pm to learn about them. After this, you can head over to our Giraffe House. Giraffes are the world’s tallest mammals, and you can hear more about these amazing beasts, including our four giraffes – Gerald, Genevieve, George and Geoffrey, in our daily Giraffe Talk at 2pm.
Also not to be missed are our endangered species – these include our Siamang gibbons, white-headed vultures, Bengal tigers and white rhinos. The future of all of these animals in the wild is in jeopardy, and Noah’s Ark is working with other zoos as part of the European Endangered Species Programs (EEP) for some of these species to research and share knowledge to benefit their global management and conservation. If you’re planning a visit to us, you can now purchase your day tickets online.
You can also buy your season tickets from our website, and these are great value for money if you think you may be making multiple visits. Visit us four times or more throughout the year, and you make back the cost! We also offer group discounts, so get in touch with us if you’re visiting as part of a large group. For groups of 10-24 entry is £9.50 each, 25-100 is £8 and 100+ is £7. We are open from Monday – Saturday, 10:30am – 5pm.
